Becoming a member of KCPA is easy and has many benefits:

bullet MONTHLY NEWSLETTER:  KCPA publishes The Paralegal Post. The newsletter contains announcements of KCPA activities, events, employment information, seminar information, national and statewide interests, committee reports and articles on topics of interest for paralegals. All members are encouraged to submit articles and news items of interest. The Paralegal Post contains valuable information regarding salary and working conditions of legal assistants in Kern County and continuing paralegal courses.
bullet MCLE AT BARGAIN PRICES:  Several times each year, the monthly membership meeting is an MCLE event.  Members can earn one full hour of MCLE Credit for as little as $16.00.

bullet SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: KCPA offers an annual scholarship to member students currently enrolled in a paralegal program.

$250 TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY EDUCATIONAL GRANT

 

KCPA is pleased to announce that it is offering a one-time grant of $250.00 to defray costs of attendance at one or more MCLE event for the 2008-2009 term.  The person chosen to receive this grant must be a KCPA member in good standing at the time the grant is applied for and disbursed, must register for and attend Paralegal Classes or any MCLE events in California, and must provide proof of attendance to the board of directors of KCPA. Recipient will be reimbursed for the cost of the MCLE event and any related travel expense up to the maximum of $250.00. This grant may be used for more than one MCLE event, but shall not exceed a combined total of $250.00.  If you are qualified and wish to apply, please complete this application and forward to KCPA President, Nancy Boles at nboles@kleinlaw.com or by fax at (661) 328-9314. Applications are due by May 30.

In 500 words or less, please explain why you believe this paralegal is deserving of the KCPA Paralegal of the Year Award.  What has this paralegal achieved this year within the legal field?  What is this paralegal's greatest strength?  How has this paralegal helped to further her/his employer's practice through her/his dedication, knowledge and experience?

OUTSTANDING MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD

The recipient of this award will be a KCPA member in good standing who is an active participant at KCPA events, who demonstrates enthusiasm toward our association. Members of the Board are not eligible to receive this award. *Achievement Certificate *Announcement in the Paralegal Post *Recognition at the June Meeting & Installation of officers.
